·      Maypop Passion Vine is the host plant for Gulf and Variegated Fritillary, when planted in the sun and Zebra Longwing, when planted in the shade. This Maypop bears purple blossoms and edible fruit.

·      Swamp (Incarnata) Milkweed is the host plant for Monarch and Queen. This Milkweed has pink blossoms which attract many types of butterflies and bees.

·      Partridge Pea is the host plant for 3 Butterflies: Sleepy Orange Sulphur, Cloudless Sulphur and Gray Hairstreak.  These easily propagated plants produce beautiful yellow blossoms.

 

·      Also included are plants that are considered “Attracters” or “Pollinators”.  The blooms from these plants feed the adult butterflies which keep the butterflies in your garden long enough to deposit eggs! The Pollinator plants included with this group are Tropical Red Sage, Lantana and Privet Cassia.
